In the context of COVID-19 pandemic, cleaning has become more important than ever. This is especially true to reengage guests and convey the tranquility that their hosts have paid extra attention and dedicated extra effort for a safe stay.
You can now define in Kigo a minimum time (in days) between reservations so that cleaning process can be taken care of with the extra measures requested for this pandemic meeting both guests and authorities demands.
In addition to closing availability for the days assigned for cleaning, when you define a minimum time between reservations, this will automatically create an amenity* that will be sent to Vrbo/HomeAway and will be seen by the guest (e.g. defining 2 days between reservations will create the “ GUEST GAP PERIOD 48 HOURS” amenity).
In order to define the minimum time, you need to create a Stay Rule (Gear icon > Manage configurations > Channels > Stay Rules). We have added a new field, in the Stay Rules configuration, called “Minimum time between reservations”. This new field will consist in two choices:
- Default option: no definition of time between reservations
- Possibility to enforce a minimum of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 days between reservations for the period of time of your choice.

* Vrbo/HomeAway is currently supporting up to 3 amenities: GUEST GAP PERIOD 24 HOURS, GUEST GAP PERIOD 48 HOURS and GUEST GAP PERIOD 72 HOURS for the corresponding 1,2 and 3 days between reservations.
